With 1000 tax lots in Shady Cove, and each with the right to sell warm beer, and it were not for OLCB, "Oregon Liquor Control Board" we would now have the possibility of having 1000 warm beer stands in town! Thus loosing our reputation of being a Sleepy Little Country Rural Village. If it were not for OLCB we could be known as the Sin Capital of the World! Thanks again, OLCB.

Hot Suds and the Law

I've got a wagon, but no establishment.
I had a license, but up in smoke it went.
Now Chief-ly together with the hot July sun.
We will now entice with hot suds, and give the folks a run.
These suds, brought on inebriation,
And likely, with some departmental creation,
Can and will enhance the city's coffers.
With this plan da Chief does offer.
But now for real civility,
The state comes down with it's own reality.
Now then, without the Hot suds idea, that was policely blessed.
The rest of us in town, can rest.

then is it not there that they are being counciled?

is it not there that they are being kept on track?

ORS/192 says, public bodies, to have credability

must open up and not meet secretly

ORS/192 says, a response is needed to each and every

citizen request, who after all pays for all the deliverys

ORS/192 says, our next election is our recourse

so let us all remember then our current remorse

The Dinos in the Corner

Sitting in the city’s chamber,

A funny thing did occur.

We were treated like the elephant in the corner,

Us? Our message provocateur?

Everyone knew we were there,

HE wanted us elsewhere.

Be SEEN, he said, not heard,

Or you will be our resident jailbird.

Like the poor dinosaur ignored till he became extinct,

We do not belong in this high flown precinct.

Could be we have something timely to say,

That the people of Shady Cove need to know today.

Oh fire hydrant, set for the friend of man

but without a trained well paid fireman

to extend your range that you might be

yet with so much cost incurred, what good can you possibly be?

it's a lonely job for you, I know

you do not bloom you do not grow

but sit where placed, for an eternity

waiting that day, for that well paid trainee

though at this moment he may be late

don't fret, count on old Rex to be by soon, to urinate

Oh yes, thousands of gallons you can thrust

when with common knowledge, only 500 is a must

Why mother nature provides a flow

continuous volume that the pipe does flow

then the concept of storage is a no -go

just think a moment and calculate

500 a minute will but millions make

that is storage of natues awe

most is from the winter thaw

now then why should man interene

with nature's bounty, some of which can not be seen

Oh yes, lets not forget the many of us who will give

awe to the woodsy site where fountains thrive

that for eons past have kept man alive

and all our blessing through and through

on the road beyond the daffys

upon a lovely mountain plateau

with so potential of savings,

quite a lot of dough

the water needed for our vitality

is there a true reality

mountain ponds with little brooks

collected from every nook

spring water that oozes from it's shoulders

brought down one only needs to round it's boulders

a profit can be seen by those , who can really see

the gravity we all can sense a commodity of free

then all is taken with sense , and man's ingenuity,

harnessed for the greater good of our humanity

From the very beginning

the attraction has been winning

not getting the grand prize

but just the best place for having a life

with small little plots, with need for a shovel

plenty of wood and comfortable hovels

these happy people

all in sight of their steeple

but now because of the Fornies

with visions of high rises and cornies

will their future be upscale

like Aspen, Ashland, and Vale

Po folks will then not be allowed !

but before then must protest and howel

for here in this little city

a gross change would be a large pity

settled and then as nature provided

a place whence Po folk could be elated

We won't leave, we were here first !

so truck in, whatever, to releave these new thirsts,

or: go south, there still lies Californy
