(like gas in the buggy, data in the computer), (processor is a very simple contraption, all it can do is add and compare and move data as per the program instructions which controls (gates) the data going through it) to accomplish tasks it must perform many, many small steps, that is why faster is better.

Hard Drive, CDdrive =SOA= place to put the important stuff, like the tank for the gas or diesel, affects how far you will go.

Software = SOA= all the cables, hydraulics, steering linkages, brakes, gas/diesel pedal, those things that will give you control to make the buggy useful.

Drivers = SOA= software that allows more hardware to be hung on just like a good removeable trailer hitch. Printers get old, buy a new one, you need a new adaptable trailer hitch ie. new Driver.

Boot disc, Dos (disc operating system)=SOA= suspension / 4 wheels, and tires, something to start hanging stuff (software) on.

Windows = SOA= the engine, Cab, doors, seats, lights, windshield, useful stuff, now we can do something.

Windows Explorer =SOA= standard pickup bed to haul some stuff around "J" County.

Internet Explorer =SOA= special pickup bed with extra high sides for bringing contraband up from ?????

Outlook Express e-mail=SOA= finding a roll of postage stamps under your pickup seat. (Darn cheap mail)

The Internet =SOA= Like ODOT, roads built to the damnedest places.

Programs: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Works, Photos =SOA= specific different beds to haul and do stuff, i.e. roof rack for 20 ft boards, green water tank, wench, lift, whatever.

Folders =SOA= the glove compartment, the door pockets, places to put stuff.

Files =SOA= stuff stored in glove compartment or door pockets like pictures, documents, letters, notes, bills, etc.

Recognizable Files and folders ie. "My Documents" =SOA= your grocery bags and stuff you want to haul around

Unrecognizable Files and folders =SOA= Like bricks loaded onto your pickup by someone else with the notion that you might haul and drop off somewhere for them, not your stuff. Some of these, the trucks will run without, many you’ve got to have, like directional signals. BEST TO LEAVE THESE ALL ALONE FOR NOW!

Desktop Icons =SOA= knobs and switches on the dash, yank on any one and see what happens, can be a learning experience.

Toolbar =SOA= handy dandy toolbox behind the cab. Great to take care of damsels in distress, if you happen to run into one.
